Programs and Opportunities for Youth

Altoona Bible Church places great emphasis on kids. Helping them grow and find a true relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ is paramount. Our goal is to give kids the chance to, yes, have awesome fun, but more importantly, build them up in the love of Jesus Christ. Sunday school, service opportunities, camp, youth retreats, Kids Clubs, and more provide amazing growth experiences for all. Take time to explore our FaceBook page for pictures and other videos! Ministry Opportunities for Boys and Girls

Local Missions Outreach Projects (LMOPS) – is a local mission outreach group of the Altoona Bible Church. LMOPS welcomes anyone, both young and old, to serve the Lord while enjoying Christian fellowship during different activities throughout the year, such as the Absolutely Free Car Wash and Christmas Parade, which get the gospel out in unique ways where people are.

Choir – The church choir is made up of men, women, and young people in the assembly who enjoy praising and worshipping the Lord in song. Each Sunday morning, the choir shares in song during the worship service.

All Church Caroling – For everyone of all ages! Families ministering together is a true blessing! Each December, we board the Bus and go to many of our shut-ins’ homes and rest homes to sing Christmas carols. Afterwards, we fellowship together with food and hot chocolate! It’s amazing how this ministry touches those that we minister to.

Sunday School is at 9:30 am every Sunday for children of all ages (and adults)!  Our Sunday School classes are for all ages and provide a relaxed atmosphere for fellowship and opportunities to ask questions.

Junior Church  Junior Church is church for kids. We have a Junior Church for toddlers to sixth-grade children. After the fellowship of hymns, songs, and worship in the main service area with the adult congregation, our older Junior Church kids are dismissed to Junior church, where they will have Bible lessons suited to their age. There is a special Toddlers’ Junior Church for 2 and 3-year-olds. Parents can drop off their children of this age before the Morning Worship service begins. They learn age-appropriate Bible lessons, play games, and learn about God in a safe, caring environment

Vacation Bible School

As Ephesians 6:4 declares concerning our children, bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.  A powerful way to do this is to get them to Vacation Bible School. This exciting week-long program is held each June with challenging Bible lessons, games, activities, crafts, and snacks. It’s a fantastic time of fellowship and growth for each child. Why not send your kindergarten through 12th-grade child to VBS? It will be a blessing.

Sunday School

Sunday School is at 9:30 AM. Some think Sunday School is just for Children. Yes, we have Sunday School Classes for all ages of children, but there are also Adult Classes as well. Bring your children to a rich environment of Bible teaching and singing, and also find spiritual blessings for yourself in staying for a Sunday school class for you too. The Word of God rightly divided is central to the ministry of ABC. Sunday School provides a relaxed atmosphere for fellowship and opportunities to ask questions and grow in the Lord!

Vacation Bible School

Sunday School provides a rich growth opportunity for children.  Teaching, singing, crafts, fellowship, picnics and games.  It’s where every child should be on Sunday morning.

Local Missions Outreach Projects

Altoona Bible Church provides lots of opportunities for young people to engage in mission activities. Our Local Missions Outreach Projects Team (LMOP) organizes many opportunities to reach our region with the gospel and to help in times of need! Not only do adults get engaged in these life-changing activities, but so do our young people. Typical activities include Door-to-door ministries, the Absolutely Free Car Wash, the Christmas Parade, Worship, Choir, work parties at the Church, etc.

ABC Pre-School

ABC Preschool provides a loving, caring environment where the children can grow Spiritually, Physically, Emotionally, Intellectually, and Socially. ABEKA Preschool and K4 curriculum is a resource for our workbooks, visuals, and lesson plans. The curriculum is presented as units of study, each including the following areas: fine motor skills, gross motor skills, language, social skills, self-help, prayer, group devotions, memorization of scripture, and individual skill work. We have two classes, the Beginner class (ages 3-4) and the Pre-K class (ages 4-5). Our classes are small so each child receives the personalized help they need.
